Become A Certified Reiki Healer
Have you ever considered becoming an energy worker or are you seeking to elevate your own energy healing practice? This training will provide you with the knowledge, tools and hands-on experience to become a Level 1 certified Reiki practitioner by the end of the course.
This two-day training will give you an overview of Reiki fundamentals, offering a deep understanding of what Reiki is, its history and the guiding principals behind it. You will learn about the basic techniques and Reiki’s energy.
There will be ample experiential practice time in which you will connect and apply Reiki’s energy into yourself and others under Joao’s supervision in a safe environment. You will learn how to identify the energetic state of the body and eliminate blockages to health.
In the course of the training you will receive a first degree Reiki initiation by Reiki Master Joao, thereby opening your personal energy channels, tuning yourself into Reiki’s energy & healing powers.
At the close of the course, you will become a Level 1 Certified Reiki practitioner, being able to connect and apply Reiki energy to yourself & others, reducing stress and promoting healing.
The cost of the training is $375 per person and includes full training, booklet and certification. Training is Saturday & Sunday and we ask that you be present for both days for the full training.
Please note that this training will be held at the OHM Center for Healing at 333 East 46th Street, 1J. This training is open to 5 participants.
João Miranda, Master Reiki Practitioner
Joao joined OHM as a Reiki Practitioner in November 2022. He treats patients at OHM’s secondary location at 333 East 46th Street location as well as our primary location at 1143 First Avenue.
João is a Brazilian Reiki Master and Theta Healing practitioner, but also an engineer who combines both intuitive perception and critical thinking into his self-awareness development, spiritual connection, and quest for inner balance. A young, relaxed and passionate-for-life person, João loves to travel and be in nature.
Having tried many paths and techniques in the search for harmony and how to incorporate peace into his daily life, Reiki was definitely a game changer for him. Reiki has enabled him to live a more present, meaningful and happy life, while also helping others and sharing his experience along the way.
João has had the privilege to be instruction by 3 different masters, incorporating teachings from Chile, Brazil and Japan. Now living in NYC, he continues his life mission of helping other manifesting their inner healing.

What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words “rei,” which means universal, and “ki,” which means energy, as in the body’s vital energy. So put together, reiki is used to describe the type of healing where the practitioner channels energy into your system to fill out any areas of depletion, cleanses out any negativities and balances your energy centers (chakras).
The healing art of Reiki was first developed in 1922 by a Buddhist monk, Mikao Usui; and was handed down through his disciples and has been continued through today.
Reiki is different from other healings in that the practitioner does not physically touch, yet the energy transmission is palpable and healing. The benefits of Reiki can include improved sleep, anxiety and stress reduction, and pain relief.
What happens during a Reiki Session?
You will lie down on a comfortable massage table during your session, fully clothed. Our practitioner, Joao, will first speak with you about any particular physical, emotional or spiritual issues you are struggling with and would like to experience healing.
As you relax, Joao will transmit energy to where healing is needed most for your specific concerns. During the treatment, you may feel a surge of energy, a feeling of physical/emotional release, or simply more relaxed and sleepy.
Energy healing treatments are equally effective in-person and virtually! The nature of energy is to transcend boundaries, and our practitioners welcome distance sessions.

REIKI CLASS – LEVEL 1
Welcome to our Reiki Level 1 Class.
The first degree Reiki course will give a broad overview on Reiki’s fundamentals providing you with a deep understanding of what is Reiki, its origin and history, the philosophy and guiding principles behind it, as well as the basic techniques to channel and apply Reiki’s energy.
Apart from theory, you’ll also be able to practice how to connect and apply Reiki’s energy into yourself and others in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision of a Reiki Master. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment and ask any questions you might have.
You will also receive a first degree Reiki initiation (attunement) by the Reiki Master opening your energy channels and tuning yourself with Reiki’s energy, amplifying your natural healing powers.
By the end of the course you will become a certified Lvl One Reiki Practitioner, being able to connect to Reiki’s energy (with a permanent lifelong access to it) and also apply it to yourself and others.
